Bigger is not better when it comes to air conditioners. Choosing the right size is the key to comfort, efficiency, and system life. Here’s how it works.
Why size matters
An oversized AC short-cycles — cooling fast but leaving humidity behind, which feels clammy and wears out parts. An undersized one runs constantly and never keeps up. The right size does both jobs well. It’s not just square footage
Proper sizing uses a load calculation that factors in your home’s size, layout, insulation, windows, ceiling height, and sun exposure — not a rule of thumb.Leave it to a pro
We perform a real load calculation for every installation so your system is matched to your home. No guessing, no oversizing.Get it right the first time
The right-sized, properly installed system saves money and lasts longer. Contact Bentley HVAC for a free, accurate assessment.Related: Need to cool a garage, addition or Florida room? Read when a ductless mini-split makes sense.
